Summer project

Okay so i was set a summer project pretty much straight after being accepted onto the course. I had to make 10 bespoke paintbrushes from found materials, a handmade sketchbook from found materials, and then finally paint 5 portraits in my handmade sketchbook of myself or others using the paintbrushes i had made.

In all honesty, i found this one of the hardest projects I've ever had to complete, I'm not a fine artist and i am not a fan of painting either. However, i was happy with the outcome of my work.
A couple of weeks ago i started on my brushes. They are mostly made from found things in the garden as this was early stages of the project so i was struggling to generate ideas after the long time off from education and creativity.

As i felt the brushes were a poor representation of my skills i decided to put more effort into the sketch book by creating each page differently, from scratch and then finally finished it off with a cute blue and red themed ribbon bind.

I am currently working on adding my portraits to these pages and will hopefully be finished by Monday so hopefully more photos to follow!

Art foundation

So basically I have decided to create a blog showcasing my work over the next 9 months while i study the art and design foundation course in Swansea Met. I'm not the best at writing but i feel this is a good way to get my work out there and track my progress over the coming months.
